Using as external link

If your blog provider/tool doesn't allow you to embed <SCRIPT> or <IFRAME> tags in your blog post, you can still resort to the last option of showing the chart as an external link. In this case, you create your post with the link for the chart. When the users click the link, the chart appears on a new page.

For this, you'll need to :

  • Create your chart using the syndication page (GUI)
  • Create your blog post content.
  • In the post, add a link (hyperlink) to the chart. To generate the link for the chart, use our FusionCharts Google Gadget – URL Converter to convert the FusionCharts Google Gadget code to a normal link.

So, let's get started and create your chart. After creating the chart, copy the link. Now, open FusionCharts Google Gadget – URL Converter, as shown below:

Steps required in this page:

  1. Paste the auto-generated Google Gadget code in the top textarea here.
  2. Click "Convert URL"  to convert the URL.
  3. Finally copy the converted URL from the lower textbox by clicking the 'Copy URL to clipboard' button (or directly copying from the textarea below).

Step 2:
Once the URL is copied, you can just add it to your blog, as detailed in the example below.

Example
We here use Vox as an example to show how we can add a chart as an external link.

  • Copy the URL from the Converter page as we discussed above.
  • Edit or create a new post.
  • Create a line of text as 'Please click here to see the chart showing the analysis' and select it.
  • Click on 'Link' button on toolbar to turn the selected text as link text.

  • This opens up a Create Link box
  • Paste the converted URL in this box.
  • Finally click Ok to finalize it.

  • The earlier selected text now turns into a link that will open up the URL.

After publishing the blog, when the link is clicked, you can see the chart in a new page.
