When was the company founded?

FusionCharts was founded by Pallav Nadhani, currently the CEO and co-founder, back in 2002 when he was in high school and was looking for a way to make more pocket money. That was the time when all the charts on Planet Earth were deathly boring (read: Excel charts) and we pioneered the concept of Flash charting - animated and interactive charts in Adobe Flash (Macromedia Flash in those days).

Interesting. So where does the company stand today?

Today, we have 14 products in the data visualization space itself. What is most interesting is that only the first product was born out of our whims and fancies, everything else has been requests and repeated requests from our users.

We are also proud to have 21,000 customers and 450,000 developers including a majority of Fortune 500 companies and some of the web's most popular sites like weather.com, LinkedIn, Google Docs and Federal IT Dashboard.

So you must be having sales and support offices all over the world, right?

No, not at all. We are based out of the Indian cities of Kolkata and Bangalore and do everything from here itself. In fact, till recently, the company had not even gone for as much as an expo on foreign soil.

Everything we do is done by a small team of 60 people, and we do all our selling over the web and phone. In fact, we did not have a single dedicated salesperson till we got to 10,000 customers.

Also, just so you know, we are located in one of the finest areas in both the cities :) We were in Kolkata for the first 8 years of operation and then opened shop in Bangalore as well in June 2011.
