As the name goes, this charts can have more than one scale axis, so you can easily contrast a set of entities based on multiple parameters. For instance, on a single Multi-Axis Line charts you can contrast a set of countries based on their population, size and per-capita income – without the Multi-Axis Line charts, you'd require 3 separate line charts to show this data.
