I am thinking of using the free version on Django.

I want to store the swf files on a URL like media.mysite.com/charts/ ---.swf

And the URL for Data.xml can be http://mysite.com/sml/data1/

Is it possible and is so how?

If they're the same domain and sub-domain, yes. You can load a chart from external domain and specify dataURL as a data file on that domain.
