Configure chart size through URL

Hello,

I'm embedding FC in a FLEX/AS3 application using a SWFLoader. Since there is no compatibility with the AVM3, I cannot set the size of the charts through method calling.

I don't know if I'm missing something, but I was wandering if there is a way to set the size of the chart using a URL variable, like for e.g. "charts/MSLine.swf?dataURL=asp/Default2.aspx&chartWidth=300&chartHeight=200&debugMode=1".

I've tried Width, width, chartwidth and nothing. In the debug mode it gives me this:

Info: Chart loaded and initialized.
Initial Width: 1276
Initial Height: 907
Scale Mode: noScale.

Can anyone help me.

Is there a way to have an xhtml 1.1 compatible code which works with Firefox? In other words, a way to use the charts with the object tag instead of embed tag.
I have tried :

FusionCharts changed titlebar in IE

Has anyone else noticed a problem where FusionCharts keep appending part of your page url to the IE titlebar? I have multiple charts in one page and, in IE only, each one is appending the anchor location (string after the #) of my url to the titlebar. The result looks like "My Page#anchor" and "#anchor" gets appended for every chart that loads on the page.

Is this a FusionCharts bug?

Hello,

Could you help me understand what you mean, in your terms of use, by "only one developer allowed". Say, I have a really small (3 people) company and I buy a User Licence : does it mean that only one of us three (the one we declared as being our "one developer") can, for example, modify the XML file providing data to the chart?
I'm sorry, I know it may seem stupid, but I don't understand what this "one developer allowed" rule will imply in our actual work.

setDataURL issues, mysterious querystring appended

I'm having trouble using relative URLs for the setDataURL method. Using the FusionCharts debug mode I was able to determine that a querystring is being appended to the URL of my XML data file. Here's what I get the debug tells me:

INFO: XML Data provided using dataURL method.
dataURL provided: small.xml
dataURL invoked: small.xml?FCTime=341

I'm not positive, but I believe the appended querystring is causing the data load to fail. Is it FusionCharts that is appending the querystring, or is it possible it's coming from other environmental factors?

hoverCap "Tooltip" cutting off

I have created a candlestick chart and am having an issue where the hoverCap, "Tooltip" is cut off on the top of the chart. It appears to have a function that forces the tooltip to the left when on the far right of the chart but not the top. Does anyone know how to force the tooltip down when nearing the top of the chart? Any assistance would be appreciated.

an absolute dataURL?

Is it possible to have Fusioncharts load XML data from an absolute URL rather than a URL rooted at the same server?

In other words, let's imagine that the page requested by the user is http://AAA.com/chart . With a fusionchart embedded on that page is it possible to have the swf pull the data from a different server with a param like flashVars="&dataURL=http://BBB.com/theXMLData" ?

Disable Right-Click Print on FusionCharts v3

I've looked all over the forum and I couldn't find an answer so pardon me if this has been answered somewhere else, but is there a way to remove the "Print Chart" option from the right-click menu of the chart. My company is using FusionCharts v3 (and we are very satisfied with the product) but we want to remove the ability for users to print the chart directly from the chart itself. This way a user can only print a chart if they print the screen and then it'll have our company logo on the page and all other good stuff...

It seems like this should be possible with an easy xml attribute (i.e. allowprint='0') but I can't find it. Is it possible? If so how can I implement it?

I'm working with Cognos tools for the past 2 years. I got in touch with "Fusion Charts Free" when my friend introduced it to me. I'm wondering whether we could use Fusion Charts as a wrapper for Chart Reports in Cognos.

It'll be great if someone could throw some light on whether this is possible and how we could do this.

Has anyone successfully rendered charts in a WordPress post using JavaScript?

I can successfully render charts when the swf and xml files are outside the WordPress content (post).

I get an "error loading data" when included in a post.

Any ideas?

Nested Axes?

I've just downloaded Fusion Charts and was wondering if it was capable of having nested axes? For example, data from a school that needed to be broken down into year groups and then by sex for different variables.
Is this possible and if so, is there a link or anything to somewhere telling me how to do it?

My company is still using enterprise edition version 2.3. In our distribution I can't find the chart FC_2_3_MS_StckCol.swf. The chart is displayed in the chart gallery for version 2.3. Embedding Fusion Chart in another Flash project

I was wondering if it is possible to embed a Fusion Chart into another Flash movie/project. The reason for this is so that the filtering controls for the data are not HTML based, but rather Flash based controls. Anybody see issues with this or have recomendations?

for some reason i need to disable layer where placed this flash chart.
whan i showing this layer again chart content reloads. but i not changed anything except of visibility.
is there any way to not reload chart conent if layer visibility was changed?

Chart rendering problem only in IE

The solution in his case was to use exact dimensions in width and height in embed tag without px, but the solution doesn't seem to work for me.

The problem is random with 50% - 75% frequency and I have tested and observed the problem in IE 5 and 6 on atleast 10/12 different windows XP SP2 machines. However the problem doesn't occur in FF, haven't tested on other browsers. I'm useing FC version 3

Auto resize problem

Hi All.

First thing i want to say is 'I like your charts'.

Currently trying to make it autoresizeable. I found documentation about it here http://fusioncharts.com/Docs/Contents/PercentResize.html

so i added new param 'scaleMode=exactFit' and it worked.
But it is wrong. It resizing all: lines, fonts, anything on chart. It should just redraw chart data depend on new chart size.

don't think it is spam.

i realy like fusion charts and using it in my project. but i am wondering it cant normaly autoresized.

may be i am making something wrong? i realy not need resize all visible chart data like fonts, line width, margin, etc. Look how makes it at open-flash-charts.

convert chart to bitmap image

Hi,

I want to convert the fusion chart's chart into an image and save it into the server's disk.

I got a tool which will load SWF file in memory and will convert it into image. But how can I call fusion chart SWF file with the xml data from the server memory using this tool? The tool is expecting an SWF file as the input and it will generate the image.

Any other way is there to do it from client or server side?

Any Body can give me help on this issue?

Rendering Problem

We have a problem with the rendering of some multi series charts using stacked 2D columns or MSLine. we get some times correct graphs but some other times we get a scrambled, disorganized, text without any graph, like in photo:

Get the chart's _x position with ActionScript

How can I dynamically figure out the X position of the canvas (only the part with the graph)? I've added a layer on top of the chart object with ActionScript, and I need to know the exact size of the gap between the border of the flash movie and the canvas. I started with a fixed value, but sometimes the Y axis value labels size change, and thus cause the canvas to move a little.

Another way for me to solve this would be to have the ability to prevent that gap from being resized. Is there a way to do that?

showing values on line charts

I'm using Multi-Series Line 2DChart (MSLine.swf).
i want to show data values between some dates, but total no. of dates is very big then i want to show only 11 date values as the category on the chart also i want to show all the values points between the dates what i mean is
suppose first i have 20 dates in my category but i want to show only 11 dates as category and values corresponding to all 20 dates
Someone knows how it can be done ?

3D Doughnut and a minus sign

Hi,

I am using the 3D Doughnut chart. In some cases, one of the values i return can be a minus value (if the quota is overran).

However this value does not come up on the Doughnut image with the minus sign although it has a minus sign in front of the figure in the xml (I have the showPercentValues set to '0'). NB The minus sign comes up in the tooltip with the minus sign. Is it possible to get this minus sign to appear on the chart.

NB Ideally what I would like to happen is have any minus figure appear as a very small sliver on the doughnut with the minus figure beside it...but i know this may not be possible.

drop down menu flickers when when over chart

I have a drop down menu that is inside an iframe and drops down over the fusion chart. When i go to select an item in the menu it menu flickers. Is there a conflict with fusion charts and iframes? Do i need to also load the chart into an iframe?

error occurred while loading data - only on IE only on 1 site

I am serving up my source data from our CMS. When I load the page in Firefox the chart draws fine. When I load it in IE the object shows this error in debug:
ERROR: an error occurred while loading your data. Please check your dataURL....

If I load the dataURL as a page in IE, it loads it fine.
If I copy the output to a static file and change the object to use the static file then the chart loads fine.

I have checked and there is no difference that I can see in the headers of the response. At first I thought it might be the chunked encoding on the response from the CMS, but I wrote a CGI to spit out the static file (to produce the chunked encoding) and it still succeeds when not using the CMS The body of the response from the server is identical in both cases. What might be causing this?

One question? When the chart requests the data does it use the browser? Does the chart data request send the same cookies that the browser sends?

Can I change "plotPriceAs" value in candlestick chart using setDataXML function ?

Unit in X label

HI,

I was trying the free version of fusioncharts to display a stockmarket chart ( 2D line) where data is refresh every minute, and I'm having problem with the x label, my label should be showing 9.00, 10.00, 11.00 .. until 5.00 and between each label there should be divided by 60 lines.

My data willl be like below:

set name='9.00' value='17400' hoverText='9.00' showName="1"
set name='9.01' value='17900' hoverText='9.01' showName="0"
set name='9.02' value='18300' hoverText='9.02' showName="0"

But the chart end up with 2 more blank labels between 9.00 and 10.00.

Am I using the wrong chart or is there a way to overcome this by plotting between 2 x labels ??

Domino and powerpoint

I tried to implement the flash graphs into domino and it works as long as you provide a full path.
The same with powerpoint.

Why can't I provide a base path ?

What happend if I create a powerpoint with a graph, and then emails it to another person?
Then he/she can't see the graph?

Hi, just registered and I'm a newbie with this, I've done a search but it returned empty.

I'd like to ask if someone is using Oracle pl/sql with the htp package.

I'm trying to call a procedure that would return a value for a chart, I'm doing it with dataStreamURL and refreshInterval. Currently it's displaying the initial graph but later it just sits waiting for an answer from the Oracle procedure. If I call this procedure from the browser directly, it shows '&value=27', which is what I'm looking for.

Any ideas ?

FusionChart in Domino

I try to use FusionChart inside a Domino client. Not through a web application.
I can create a flashobject and set the FlashVars property to accept dataXML throught LotusScript.

However, the size of the flashobject is by default 192px. Way to small for me.
I tried to set the width with just flashChart.width = 200, where flashChart is my object.

I'm not sure how the API works. Anyone with a clue how to solve it?

Charts retain the same data

In setting up several charts, what needs to be changed to keep the different charts from pulling the same data.

Example: setup one 3D bar Chart to pull Data.xml, Chart.htm, Second Chart to Pull DataB.xml, ChartB.html, but Second Chart pulls first charts data. Please advise what needs to be changed to have each chart to reflect differing data.

When I insert a 2d Stacked Column chart inside a scrollPane component content, it does'nt display the Legend content. I believe it is because the legend itself uses a scroll. The problem persists even when the scoll is not needed.

Printing a Chart

My problem is that when I print a chart it gets cut on the left side. I tried to print it in many ways but alsways the same problem.
I didn't notice that problem with Fusion Charts v2.3 but It's frequent in v3.

Does anyone else have the same problem ?
