Server Side Image Creation using Action Script

Is it possible to generate an image using a server side routing that essentially passes XMLData and Chart Type to action script? A lot of posts on this forum are begging for this feature. It would be a huge win for Fusion Charts to provide this type of a capability. Not knowing the internals of the Flash Charting technology being used it might seem like a simple feature request from a layman but I would think there has to be a way to generate this? Or is this asking for too much?

negative yAxisMinValue and yAxisMaxValue

I am trying to create a chart that is in the negative values but I only need to see -35 to -55. When I put these values in like this

yAxisMinValue="-55" and yAxisMaxValue="-35" the chart disregards the Min and starts from 0

like this

yAxisMinValue="-35" and yAxisMaxValue="-55" the chart inverts to the positive side drawing incorrectly.

I am using the MSCombi2D.swf chart. Help please.

I set up a chart with a meta refresh every minute, and consistently end up with this, after several hours:

full screen chartWidth and chartHeight

I'd like to be able to have the chart "object" take up the full browser content body.

I tried 100% and it seemed to not work too well...

Any ideas?

I'm not using an embed tag, just object, to get valid HTML following this advice:

I'd rather not deviate from standards-compliant HTML, so if I have to choose having "full screen" mode or using bad HTML, then bye-bye full-screen feature :-(

Chart values getting rounded up/down???

Im very new to this whole thing... I started using FilmeMaker under a week ago as I needed to make a application to record temperature 3 times a day of a patient and then to be able to see it as a graph.
I soon found this awesome program for the graph side of the solution but the problem I have is that when I input the data it keeps rounding it up or down.
I need to use values between 34 and 39 but I need to be able to show other values like 35.7, 36.3 etc... but it keep rounding them up or down into whole numbers.
I hope its me doing something wrong and that it is possible to do.
Any help would be realy great.

When I use the w3 validator to check a page on my website with an embedded Fusion Chart, it fails as being a valid XHTML file.

I'm using...

Some of the errors are:
Line 25, Column 35: there is no attribute "showNames".
Line 25, Column 56: there is no attribute "decimalPrecision".
Line 25, Column 68: there is no attribute "caption"

"You have used the attribute named above in your document, but the document type you are using does not support that attribute for this element."

How can I integrate FusionCharts into a valid XHTML file?

Dynamic manipulation of an image

Can I do this on the server side?

category x axis with two responding y values

We want to make graph with category x axis. For each x-axis point, there are two responding y values: one y value is draw in bar graph, the other is draw in point in graph. I wonder how we can make temple .swf file and how to write xml in php script?

saveAsImage - OnComplete Event

Is there a way to track the saveAsImage completion? I have several charts on a page, I have embedded these in an iframe and then I want to track when the saveAsImage completes. And when that happens I would like to retrieve the images from the cache and generate a PDF. Currently I am saving the images to Cache successfully, but would like to know when to invoke the PDF generation routine, without waiting for some arbitrary time. I cannot embed this logic inside imageSaveURL target since I am dealing with multiple charts. It would be really nice if in the next version we can have an elegant way of handling multiple charts without resorting to iframes.

Grouping Names

How do I make a subset of names, for example, I have a chart that names go from Jan 2005 to Mar 2008, I want to show Jan, Feb, Mar..., rotated, but then I want to show the year below horizontal, ranging from Jan-Dec for each year with vertical lines dividing the years.

Line charts and Discountinuous Data

I know that with the line charts, it's possible to display discontinuous data and the chart will accurately reflect this. Is there an option in the multi-series line charts that will go ahead and draw the lines for gaps in the data? For example, I'm gathering historical data, but over the weekends the data isn't gathered because it's a non-working day. I want the line chart to go ahead and connect the line between Friday and Monday's data.

Pie chart rounding total 101

While using 2D Pie chart, total of slices goes 101%. Values generated on chart are : 84%, 7%, 5%, 4%, 1%

Zero Values on MSLine

I am using the MSLine.swf to plot 3 datasets.

One of my datasets has a value of 0 for all the categories on the X-axis. Because of this, I assume, a line for the dataset is not drawn on the chart. Is there a setting I can use to make the dataset with all 0 values still get shown?

i am using ASP.NET 2.0 and SQL server and

i am trying to insert a picture of a chart into PDF and dont know how to do that programatically.

i have a routine that generates a XML string for the chart and i want to programatically generate an image of the chart and insert that into my PDF.

Can someone please help with this?

Can someone suggest how to deal with the case when lines in a multi-seris graphs intersect? In my graph one lines covers up the other line at intersection point and the tool-tip for the other line is not accessible.

Gantt Chart Start Date Problem

I'm using a Gantt chart to display a timeline of projects over a period of months, the problem occurs when a project's start date is not in the range of the graph.

If the graph shows months Aug-Dec and a project date range is July-Nov the Gantt chart does not display the correct range.

Any ideas?

i'm brand new with fusionchart. I'm displaying charts on my html page. It's ok when I check the page with IE, but when I'm on my mac and check it with safari or firefox, I get the error loading data error. Why is that ?

Any idea ? I'm guessing it's a path problem,...

Fusionchart: Java API for xml building

In my J2EE application, servlets are used for generating xml data. I do not find any DTD or a Java API for building easily xml description of chart . So I took few days for building a java API. Now thanks to the Java API, the generation of xml data for fusion chart is look like this:

My solution avoids lot of syntax error and permits to develop quickly in Java. As I use GWT for building the web interface, all my application is written in Java !

The Java API is generated from meta descriptions : .xls files. Excel files have been written manually by a copy paste from the documentation. But if the fusion chart team had an xml source of the documentation, it would be very easy to rebuild automatically the .xls files or the API directly.
Join to this post, you can find the entire project permitting to generate the API (.class) and to build the .jar file. My code is compliant to Java 1.4 (requirement on my project). My code is open source and under the LGPL licence ([url]http://www.gnu.org/licenses/lgpl.html[/url]). Therefore everybody can use it in its project.
I would be very happy if my work can be included directly in the product

When has no data - chart goes mental :/

Hi,

First of all, what a great product!

I've been using it for about a few weeks now, and I'm just in the process of making a script to generate an XML file, based on the number of user signups I have (updated daily via cronjob)

However, I've come across a problem if ALL of the values are false - i.e:

[b](had to upload as .txt, cos it wouldn't let me post ;))[/b]

As you can see, there is no entries with 1 in (this is going to be the case sometimes, when the site goes through a rough time, so I'm trying to accommodate for it now =))

I guess what I'm trying to ask - is can it be edited so that it just shows:

0 0 0 0 0 0 0 00 ... etc

..for all of the data, and doesn't go all weird with the chart? :P

X axis (dates) hidding

I have big XML file with 500 records, 500 dates and 500 values. On the "x axis" I see 1 date covers other date, how i can display only (for example) 10 dates, not 500? or eventually how i can hide all dates on x axis?

I can't figure out what I am doing wrong here, it seems that the flash program doesn't understand the information about the year and plots every event in the same year.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. If this problem does not exist in the non-free version, I'd love to see how that version displays my data.

Remove values from X/Y axis in line chart

Hi.

I wonder if there is a way to disable the displaying of values on the X/Y axis and keep them only in the popup text of the points.

So if I have X/Y axis, add values like x = 1, y = 10; x = 2, y = 2; etc in the chart the values of X would not be shown on the axis, rather just in the popup/hover text when the mouse if over a certain point.

but I still can't get it right.

I've changed my headers to:
Cache-Control: cache, must-revalidate
Pragma: public

like this:

response.setContentType("text/xml");
response.setHeader("Cache-Control", "cache, must-revalidate");
response.setHeader("Pragma", "public");

in my jsp page that prints out the xml data. I get access to the page in Internet Explorer but I cannot get the javascript code (with the dataUrl method) to read and download the xml.

I get a "movie not loaded" error instead. It works well in other browsers like Firefox.

Z axis functionality

Please let me first congratulate to you for the very nice peace of software that you've done. It's simple and easy to use. I've managed to put it on wheels at the first try.

My question concerns more about the functionality rather than technical issues. Have you developped a way to have a z-axis in multiseries graphs? My question is a result of trying to display numeric data where the category are seconds (60 seconds) and I've 14 series. In column 3D everything shows a little bit messy, but if the series were in depth (Z axis) it should appear nice.

Have you implemented such functionality?

formatting X-axis labels to n decimal points

Hi, I am new to FusionCharts. I am graphing a multi-series 2d line graph, in which the x-axis labels contain very small ecimals. I wish to keep the value on the decimals(i.e. no rounding), but to round their display on the x-axis. I wasn't able to find a switch suitable for this in the manual.

For e.g., i may pass the following xml for a multi-series 2d line chart,

category label='0.04211111'
category label='0.04311111'
category label='0.04611111'

i wish to see the x-axis labels rounded to 2 decimal points (not 3 or more due to space constraints), but retain their unrounded values as far as graphing is concerned.

That is, i would like to see the x-axis lablels: 0.04, 0.04, 0.04, 0.05, 0.05, but i still want to see the s1 and s2 data as though they are plotted against the true x-axis values passed, 0.04111111, 0.04211111 etc, like this,
