Fusionchart cannot re-create chart on FireFox

I am using php with professional fusionchart. I need re-create chart when user choose value from a select box. My code work as well on IE. But I cannot re-create new chart on FireFox. Firefox always show old chart that it created on the firsttime. I try to debug javascript and saw that it always call initChart function to re-create chart. But Firefox doesn't have any changed. Please help me to solve it ASAP. I have to fix this bug for my customer.

Special characters are not decoded after calling setDataXML once...

I have some special characters in the label text, e.g. & (which is encoded as %26). The first time I setDataXML, %26 is correctly decoded as &. If I call setDataXML on the same chart with the same XML, %26 is left un-decoded. Will this bug fixed any time soon?

YAxisMaxValue automatically goes to 100

I have a very simple xml being used in the 2D line chart. I set teh YAxisMaxValue to 10 and the YAxisMinValue to 0 and when the value set on the page is zero, the chart automatically scales to a Y Max of 100. Attached is a modified xml from the samples provided from Fusion charts that demonstrates the error.

IE7 Bug with JavaScript

Hi Guys,

I am using the JavaScript method to display charts on a page. Works fine with Firefox and IE 6 but with IE 7:

It Loads each page, and then says "Internet Explorer cannot open the
Internet site [insert url]. Operation aborted". Upon clicking "OK", you go
to the IE error message page for connection problems.

Looking at the server logs. It appears that the browser is making an HTTP request just before dying to "GET /://0".

This appears to happening around 50% of the time. Possibly to do with how long the chart takes to load?

I am more than lost on this one!

Primary and Secondary Y Axis problem

I am unable to get the Scaling to work with the Y Axis values.
No matter what values I use in the Secondary Axis, I always get the same number scale.

Also, when I use the default labels the graph uses MB/GB instead of Time scale.

Hello,

I've been using some of the FusionCharts in a prototype of the re-design for one of our applications.

The basic structure of the page will have up to 8 FusionCharts on each page showing various information. I'm also using wmode='opaque' in order to allow HTML content to display over top of the flash.

The results on my system:

Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.11 -- Works fine
Firefox 2.0.0.11 (Windows) -- ~50% CPU usage per page when 8 graphs are displayed.
Opera 9.24 (Windows) -- Works fine
Safari 3.0.4 (Windows) -- Browser locks up and needs to be killed.

This problem only occurs when wmode is set to either opaque or transparent (if left at "window" the default value it works fine).

The problem also only occurs when several charts are being displayed. Firefox showed no CPU issues when 5 or fewer charts are shown, and Safari has CPU usage issues when more than 1 are shown, but doesn't lock up with 3 charts on the page.

I'm using the FusionCharts.js file (Version: 1.1 (29th June, 2007)) to insert the graphs on to the page. Usage is mostly standard, however I have added a setAttribute call to apply the wmode change as explained above. I have also tried the FusionChartsWMode.js file posted on the forums with the same results.

setTransparent not working

Im using [url]http://www.dynarch.com/projects/calendar/[/url] calendar with fusioncharts.
Problem is, it pops up BEHIND the graph.

I tried solving it with:
graf.setTransparent(true);
graf.setDataXML(response);
when i set transparent to true nothing happens(no error).

if i use FusionChartsWMode.js i get error:

chartObj.setDataXML(strDataXML);[/b]
if i call function with setTimeout set to 3 seconds, it works.

Random problems with the chart

Hi,

I have some problems using the chart component.
For the same datas,(it's a dynamical data source), sometimes the charts display well but the sometimes I have just a part of the title (caption) that displays.
How can avoid that ?

Not sure why this is not working for the second dataset. But it seems that the graph is changing the legend color to the incorrect color.

3D Pie Chart Labels Don't Wrap

There is no way to wrap the labels on a 3D Pie Chart, this means that the labels get cut off or you have to make the chart too small to be of use.

Will this problem be addressed in a future release? This problem is causing us to look at alternative products to get our software released.

Hi, i'm using fusionchartFree in a project for laboratories of gran sasso italy (infn). I'm having problems with the dates in the gantt chart. For example, i have the gantt chart of april, and i want to show not only all the tasks that i have in this months, but also those tasks that begins before april (lets say march) and ends after (lets say may). Well, when i try to show this kind of dates, gantt chart doesn't show me the bar corresponding to the task.

As you can see, there'isnt bars associate with the first 10 task which begins before april and ends after (or in april).

Well I am using Fusion Charts Free and I came across the following problem...

When all the data series values in XML are zero the vertical bars in the 3D column chart show in a peculiar manner whereas the graph is plotted correctly in case of any one of the series value is non-zero.

Is this a default nature of the fusion chart that we need to provide atleast a single non-zero value or is there any parameter we need to set to avoid this error?

Gantt - Task fontSize problem

Hi, I'm using Gantt Chart and I have a problem concerning tasks labels.

I would like to customize the size of all tasks labels but unfortunately it seems that the attribute "fontSize" doesn't work...

I have tried to use the attribute "fontsize" in "tasks" element and then "fontSize" in "task" element.
In both cases, I have obtained no result.

I can change font type (Arial, etc.) but not font size.

Any suggestion?

Pie rotation when wmode = transparent

I added the following to the FusionCharts.js file in order to prevent existing page controls from appearing behind the FusionCharts graph (eg drop-down menu):

this.addParam('wmode', 'transparent');

However, this has had an adverse effect when enabling rotation on a 3d pie chart. Instead of a fluid rotation, the rotation effect is staggered. It looks like it freezes then jumps to the new rotation point (if you know what I mean).

Same time I can able to get the fluid rotation if the data points are less than 4

Since adding "back button" support to our Ajax application by using the [url=http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/history/]YUI Browser History Manager[/url], we've noticed that in IE6 the browser locks up the second time we click on one of the maps in our application.

Having investigated further, the issue seems to be caused by updating the document.location.hash property, which the YUI Browser History Manager does in order to enable bookmarking the application state. However, it is possible to demonstrate the bug with a very simple test case, without any of the YUI stuff and with only minimal JavaScript to create the FusionMaps object and the associated click handler.

We're using a licensed copy of FusionMaps v3, but I've put together the bug demonstration using the Evaluation version. Please try it for yourself at [url]http://www.daybarr.com/playpen/fusionmaps/[/url].

Is this a FusionMaps issue, an Adobe Flash Player issue, an IE6 issue, or entirely my fault? If we can't fix this, we may need to use a different mapping solution as support for IE6 users and having a working back button for our single page Ajax app are essential requirements.

Firefox chart not rendering

I have charts that are rendered in JS using .setDataXml and .render methods, In IE these charts all display perfectly fine, In Firefox however, on certain charts (MSColumn3DLineDY.swf) I get a white place where the chart should be, and right clicking shows "Movie Not Loaded", I have seen a few posts on the forum about this but none seem to help.

This works fine when running the app locally in both browsers but once I sync to the live server the behavior described above happens.

This page is a small piece of a very extensive application so a direct example is unavailable but I can send more details if it will help resolve the issue.

Display problem when adding flash file next to fusionmap

I've got a fusionmap on my homepage and directly to the right of it I have another regular flash file I created myself. When I refresh the page, the regular flash file splits up three times until the page is fully loaded at which point everything formats correctly. I've tried seperating the flash files into divs, tables, nothing seems to work. Any help as to why this is happening would be appreciated.

X Axis labels not displaying when using loadMovie

The first screenshot above is taken from a standalone implementation of the graph. The X axis labels are present and correct.
The second is taken when the same swf is loaded into a parent using loadMovie. Both the parent and the swf containing the grpah are in the same folder.

When loaded from a parent MC however, the labels are missing. It is def nothing to do with the xml, as it is the same file and the same xml used in both cases. Any ideas?

Today I try embed chart in PowerPoint 2003 with shockwave flash 9.0.115, but I don't find the "Custom" in shockwave's Properties.so I input the url in "movie".first run is right.then I save it and closed. when I open it again, and set "playing" is true,but the chart never display.

I also do the same way in PowerPoint 2003 with shockwave flash 9.0.45,I found the "Custom" option. then whatever saved or closed,the chart is always display right. so I think the problem is in the vision of shockwave flash object.

Pie 3D does not switch to 2D on Ubuntu 7.10 w/ Firefox

I am using Ubuntu 7.10 and I can not get the 3D Pie chart in the Blueprint Demo http://www.fusioncharts.com/Demos/Blueprint/ to switch to 2D by right clicking and selecting "View 2D". Nothing happens. It works fine on a Windows machine in IE or FF. The slicing and rotation work fine.

Thoughts?

Scatter: Large Data Files some times don't load.

I have been working with massive amounts of data. More data than I want to deal with.

Some data is more than 10,000 data points. I get the warning from flash and say yes to continue the script.
The data then loads (some times). It seems right around the 10K mark is where things get strange.

3K-7K seems to be ok most of the time.

Are there alternative solutions to displaying such data?

Also, do you guys have something that will print some basic stats in the graph?
Like min/max, maybe even STD+3/-3 +6/-6?

The charts do not get rendered properly under IE

I am using setDataXML and all the text gets mangled together in IE7 and the chart itself does not display. Sometimes the caption alignment is also wrong (centered on (0, 0)).
Just deleting the chart and recreating it with the same xml data fixes the problem most of the times. On IE this issue occurs very frequently, while on firefox it seems to never occur.

scrollcolumn2d issues

Hi,

Is there a way to display a single series data with a scroll column 2d chart? right now, if i use a column2d chart, and have many bars, the bar just shrinks. I want it to scroll and maintain a fixed size for the bar.

I also tried using the scrollcolumn2d as a workaround with only 1 legend item. but still it wont scroll. it only scrolls when you have many legend items.

Is there any way around this issue?

Charts not printing in Firefox

Hi, I have some charts mixed in with other html on my pages, and they dont print with the normal browser print function in firefox. I did some research and apparently flash cant be printed in firefox like that :( I found a way to work around it, but it would require modification of the .fla files to do so, and since i dont have those I was wondering if anyone knows away to fix this for fusion charts. I want the whole page to be printed, not just the chart. Thanks!

Hello there. We are using the Bar2D chart and sometimes in IE, the chart does not render properly. All the text is chrushed together and there is no bars at all.

I have created a gantt chart which shows staff members attendence,illness and time off.

As a part of this I need to have some trendlines which show the weekends and bank holidays..

What I have found is that if I make a chart for a year, I have the months as categories and then day within the month as categories also..

What I am finding is that at the beginning of the year the trendlines are in place.. however by the time they get to the middle of the year they have moved out of snyc with the days with should be covering by a few pixels.

This gets worse until by the end of the year they are clearly out by several pixels.

I've pasted the XML code below for you to generate the chart yourself and see where it's going wrong.

This is how i call it
chart.setDataURL(graphUrl);

The chart-object is fetched with the getChartFromId-function, and the object is found properly. This works fine in FireFox 2.0, and internet Explorer 7.0, but in internet Explorer 6.0 i get "Object doesn't support this property or method".

Is this a known bug?

[edit] It's the second time calling that fails, the init-call works like a charm. I'm trying to load another graph with the setDataUrl-method.

Place Fusionchart in hidden Div

a few possible IE and Save as Image bugs

Hello,

I think I found a few bugs, I hope someone can help me with it.
First of all, I use the newest version of FusionCharts v3.05 and Internet Explorer (version: 7.0.5730.11) and Firefox (version 2.0.0.11)

Bug 1

In Internet Explorer I do the following steps:
> you save an image
> click on a link in the chart
Then Internet Exploror throws an error like: Unable to download, undefined error

Bug 2

When unloading a page with a FusionChart on it, Internet Explorer doesn't respond for like 30 seconds and the throws an error saying:
Out of memory at line: 56
I figured that you can fix this by downloading the latest version of the flash-player from adobe but users may also have an older version of the flash-player.

Bug 3

This bug also shows up in Firefox but only when using an Pie3d chart. When using the FC_Rendered Javascript function to call the setDataXml function, the save as image function doesn't work. The progressbar appears saying Capturing data but it doesn't. :)
I've included an example below to show the problem. (modified from the pie3d example in the gallery directory of the FC download)

Thats all. Except for this i'm very happy with FusionCharts.

IIS/Memory leak with SaveAs() functionality

Since I downloaded the latest version of Fusion Charts (3.0.6) to use the SaveAs() functionality by clicking a button on a page, there appear to be IIS issues (pages hanging after several button clicks, etc.) The only way to resolve the issue is to restart IIS. Killing the asp.net worker process will not resolve the problem.

Has anyone else run into this issue?

In IE FusionChart uses Data.xml instead of specified DataURL for all except one dynamically added charts

The bug is always reproducable on IE 7, Windows XP SP2, Flash Player 9. Firefox and Safari are working fine.

I am adding several fusion charts dynamically on a page using FusionCharts.js.
Here is the code:

I have inserted code into getSWFHTML method to track swf html. Here it is:

First chart:

So the dataURL is passed correctly to the chart.

When I sniffer http traffic I see that the second chart is querying:
"GET /getsectordata.php?sector=Infrast/Utilities&queryId=FSE¶ms=10/12/2007,31/12/2007,100,50 HTTP/1.1"
which is correct.

But the first chart is querying:
"GET /Data.xml HTTP/1.1"
which is wrong. And as a result first chart displays "Error in loading data."

When I load 5 charts - the last one got loaded fine, the rest 4 - loading Data.xml

Could you please help me with this issue?

Gantt chart not displaying same width for last column

Attached is the screen shot showing the last day of the month (March) which displays 9 times as wide as the other days. I am displaying Feb and Mar and this shot is taken scrolled all the way to the end.

I am using the "trial" version to see if this product is usable in our environment. So far, it has been easy to use and implement.
